AI Scan - AI Lens Live collects and processes photos only when you choose a photo, take a photo, and tap Identify, or when you attach a photo in AI Chat. The app may also process the text of messages you type in AI Chat, chat_id values created for chat sessions, scan context, and the fixed AI Scan system prompt used to generate responses.

This data is sent to the AIScan API hosted on Railway. The API uses OpenAI to identify objects, generate descriptions, key facts, fun facts, and answer follow-up questions. Do not send personal documents, credentials, or sensitive personal information.

AI results may be inaccurate and should not be used as medical, dietary, legal, financial, or other professional advice. Never eat, touch, or interact with unknown objects based solely on AI identification.

AIScan API infrastructure is hosted on Railway. AI requests are processed by OpenAI to provide object identification and chat responses. These providers process data for the AI features described in this policy and are expected to protect the data with safeguards that provide the same or equal protection as this policy. The app does not create user accounts, does not use subscriptions, and does not sell personal information.

AI scan identification and AI Chat are gated by an explicit consent screen before any AI network request sends photos, messages, chat_id, scan context, or the fixed AI Scan system prompt to the AIScan API, Railway, or OpenAI. You can revoke AI data sharing in Settings. Revocation resets the local chat session and blocks future AI requests until consent is granted again.

Scan history and favorites are stored locally on your device. Removing the app deletes local app data according to standard iOS behavior.

The Application is not intended for children without parental supervision. The Service Provider does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children.

The Service Provider uses reasonable safeguards for information processed by the Application. No method of transmission over the Internet is completely secure.
